The practice has a low cesarean section rate, and they support vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) deliveries. The team does not perform routine episiotomies, and they support and encourage breastfeeding.<\/p>

The practice has affiliations with AMITA Health St. Alexius Medical Center Hoffman Estates, AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Medical Center Elk Grove Village, and NCH Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights in Illinois.<\/p>

When should I first see a doctor about pregnancy?<\/h3>


The team of providers at Elite Women\u2019s Care includes two obstetricians and a certified nurse midwife. They welcome you into the practice as soon as you know you\u2019re pregnant.\u00a0<\/p>

You may even choose to make an appointment prior to getting pregnant to learn how to best prepare your body for pregnancy, to start a prenatal vitamin, and to learn ways to increase your chances of conceiving.<\/p>

At your first prenatal appointment, you undergo a simple blood test to confirm your pregnancy. They estimate your due date and check the baby\u2019s heart rate.\u00a0<\/p>

What is involved in prenatal care?<\/h3>


If you\u2019re thinking about getting pregnant, you suspect you may be pregnant, or you\u2019re definitely pregnant, schedule a prenatal care consultation at Elite Women\u2019s Care. Prenatal care helps you and your baby stay healthy throughout pregnancy.\u00a0<\/p>

Prenatal care is important in keeping you and your baby healthy throughout pregnancy. Prenatal care includes:<\/p>

  • Regular checkups to review the health of both you and your baby<\/li>
  • Nutritional support, including recommendations about prenatal vitamins<\/li>
  • Exercise recommendations<\/li>
