Dr. German D. Calonje is a triple board-certified gynecologist, urogynecologist, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care for women with both routine and complex pelvic health conditions. Fluent in both English and Spanish, he is committed to helping women improve their quality of life through personalized treatment plans and the latest advances in women’s healthcare.

Dr. Calonje earned his medical degree from the Autonomous School of Medical Sciences (UCIMED) in Costa Rica and completed his internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He then completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago, where he developed extensive expertise in women’s health and gynecologic surgery.

Dr. Calonje specializes in the evaluation and treatment of pelvic floor disorders, including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, endometriosis, and other complex gynecologic and urinary tract conditions. He is highly experienced in robotic-assisted and minimally invasive surgical techniques, offering advanced treatment options that often result in less pain, smaller incisions, faster recovery, and excellent clinical outcomes.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Calonje serves as a faculty member in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at Ascension Saint Alexius Medical Center, where he helps educate and mentor the next generation of OB/GYN physicians. His clinical interests include female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, and he remains committed to advancing women’s healthcare through education and evidence-based practice.
