Post-Care Instructions for Sinclair V-IPL Treatment

Sinclair V-IPL is a non-invasive light-based treatment designed to improve skin tone, reduce pigmentation, and target vascular lesions. To ensure the best results and a smooth recovery, follow these post-care instructions carefully.

1. Immediate Aftercare

  • Mild Redness & Warmth is Normal: Temporary redness, warmth, or slight swelling may occur and should subside within a few hours to 48 hours.
  • Mild Sunburn-Like Sensation: A slight burning or tingling feeling is normal; apply a cool compress (wrapped in a clean cloth) to soothe discomfort.
  • No Touching or Scratching: Avoid rubbing, scratching, or picking the treated area to prevent irritation or infection.

2. Skin Care Routine

  • Gentle Cleansing: Use a mild cleanser and lukewarm water to cleanse the skin. Avoid hot water, scrubbing, or exfoliating for at least one week.
  • Hydrating Moisturizer: Apply a fragrance-free, hydrating moisturizer to maintain skin hydration and comfort.
  • No Harsh Products: Avoid retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C serums, or any active skincare products for at least one week post-treatment.

3. Sun Protection

  • Strict Sun Avoidance is Crucial: Avoid direct sun exposure for at least two weeks post-treatment.
  • Use Sunscreen Daily: Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen, even indoors.
  • Wear Protective Clothing: Use hats, sunglasses, or protective clothing when outdoors.

4. Managing Discomfort & Skin Changes

  • Mild Discomfort is Normal: If needed, take acetaminophen (Tylenol) to relieve discomfort. Avoid NSAIDs (ibuprofen, aspirin) as they may increase bruising.
  • Pigmented Spots May Darken: Freckles or age spots may darken and crust over before flaking off within 7–10 days. Do not pick or scratch these areas.
  • Vascular Lesions May Darken Before Fading: Treated blood vessels may appear darker before gradually fading.

5. Hydration & Lifestyle Adjustments

  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to support skin healing and collagen production.
  • Avoid Alcohol & Smoking for 48 Hours: These can slow down recovery and affect results.
  • No Strenuous Exercise for 48 Hours: Avoid excessive sweating, hot showers, steam rooms, or saunas.

6. Follow-Up & Additional Treatments

  • Gradual Improvement: Full results develop over several weeks. Multiple sessions may be required for optimal outcomes.
  • Attend Follow-Ups: Follow your provider’s recommendations for continued treatment and progress monitoring.

7. When to Contact Your Provider
